The roll over button is a tried and true way to give the website visitor some feedback on links and interactivity.
- We are going to make our navigation buttons in photoshop using one layer.
- After you have the text the way you like pull down the view to show Rulers.
- Now drag guides to divide your text into individual buttons.
- Now select the slice tool and click the button Slices From Guides as you see below.
- Size you file to 250px wide.
- Crop the text tightly around your text and select the “save for web and devices” option. This will save each slice as a separate image in a folder. I save this set as black.
- Now change the text anyway you like by changing color or drop shadow or whatever. Asubtle change can be effective so experiment with this.
- Save for web as you did before but name it red.
- If you save the to the same folder you will see your file as you see here.
We will easily insert these into our pages with an INSERT ROLL OVER selection.
