Bead shot setup provide the product against a dark background with a strong kicker to build the edge Highlight and illuminate translucent stones from the rear.

The black mat board doubles as a support that I taped the beads to and a Gobo for the back light. I shot these with two 200w Bowens Flash turned all the way down and a Chimera Small softbox.

thank you for posting this. important tip: let the background get a tiny bit of light as your are doing, creates a beautiful depth. im curious what F# did these get shot at?
I am sure these were shot at a middle aperture f/8 because the flash does not allow turning the power down much. The important thing is that there is a light from behind making the translucent beads glow and putting a bright edge on all the beads.
